With the mission of reducing environmental impact, one of our customers asked us to integrate coreless technology on one of their Nexus industrial lines. The development of this technology had to address many technical challenges during continuous transfer and winding, while also being a truly green solution that does not create mandrel-related waste. The United Converting Tissue internationally patented airblade and Unicore technologies enabled the right setup configuration, using simple rigid recyclable plastic mandrels with a production life of over 1500 logs per mandrel, truly reducing product cost and environmental impact.
